Yoga Teacher Training in Bali: Transform Your Practice and Your Life

Yoga teacher training in Bali offers the opportunity to learn in a setting where spiritual traditions, natural beauty, and a strong wellness community come together. For many students, studying in Bali provides a unique environment to deepen their practice, connect with like-minded people, and experience yoga beyond the studio.

Whether you are an experienced yogi ready to share your practice with the world or a curious soul searching for deeper meaning, yoga teacher training in Bali meets you exactly where you are. At House of Om, We have guided students from around the world from across the globe through this exact journey and we can tell you with certainty that almost none of them returned home the same person who arrived.

Why Bali Is the World’s Top Destination for Yoga Teacher Training

There are yoga teacher training programs on every continent. So why do thousands of dedicated practitioners choose yoga teacher trainings in Bali above all other options each year? The answer goes far beyond beautiful scenery.

A Culture Rooted in Spirituality

Bali is one of the last places on Earth where spiritual practice is not separate from daily life, it is daily life. Balinese Hinduism shapes every corner of the island: the canang sari offerings placed at temple gates each morning, the sound of prayer drifting from family compounds, the ceremonial processions that fill the streets with color and devotion. When you choose a yoga teacher training in Bali, you are not studying yoga in isolation. You are immersed in a culture that has honoured the sacred for thousands of years. This depth of context transforms how you understand your own practice, your teaching, and yourself.

Nature as Your Greatest Teacher

Practicing in the cool highland air of Ubud surrounded by jungle, volcanic peaks, and rivers that carve through ancient stone produces a quality of presence that is simply impossible to replicate indoors. Students who complete yoga teacher training Bali consistently report breakthroughs in their practice that they could not achieve in years of home practice. Nature strips away distraction and demands full presence.

At House of Om, our Bali trainings are held in carefully chosen locations that encourage students to slow down, reconnect, and fully engage with their practice. Surrounded by nature and away from the pace of everyday life, students have the opportunity to develop greater focus, deepen their practice, and learn in a peaceful and supportive environment.

A Global Community of Practitioners

Bali draws serious practitioners from every corner of the planet. Your cohort at a yoga retreat Bali training will include students from Australia, Europe, the Americas, and Asia each bringing their own tradition, perspective, and experience to the mat. This diversity of voices enriches every philosophy discussion, every teaching practice, and every meal shared after class. The friendships forged during a yoga teacher training in Bali are often lifelong. The global community you build here becomes one of your most valuable professional and personal resources.

What to Expect from a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali

A 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali provides the internationally recognised foundation for becoming a yoga teacher.. It is the starting point of your professional teaching career and, more importantly, the deepest dive you will ever take into your own practice. Here is what the journey looks like.

Core Curriculum: What You Will Study

A 200-hour yoga teacher training Bali offers the internationally recognised foundation for becoming a certified yoga teacher:

  • Asana — alignment, adjustments, sequencing, and the therapeutic applications of key postures
  • Pranayama — breath science, classical techniques, and how breathwork shapes the nervous system
  • Yoga Philosophy — Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the lived ethics of a yogic life
  • Anatomy and Physiology — how the body moves, where students are vulnerable, and how to keep your classes safe
  • Teaching Methodology — how to plan and deliver a class, cue effectively, and hold a room
  • Practicum — hands-on teaching practice with real feedback from master teachers

A Typical Day at House of Om

The rhythm of a Yoga Teacher Training in Bali is one of the most rewarding parts of the journey. At House of Om, each day begins with meditation, pranayama, and an energising morning asana practice. Throughout the day, you’ll explore yoga philosophy, anatomy, alignment, teaching methodology, and practice teaching, gradually building both knowledge and confidence. Evenings may include workshops, restorative practices, self-study, or time to reflect and connect with your community.

Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance learning, practice, and rest, creating space for personal growth, meaningful connections, and a deeper understanding of yoga both on and off the mat.

Living in Bali During Your Training

House of Om training packages include accommodation in beautifully designed private or shared rooms set within our jungle garden. Three daily plant-based meals are prepared fresh by our kitchen team and eaten together as a community. On free afternoons and rest days, the magic of Bali is right outside your door, sacred water temples, cascading waterfalls, organic markets, and rice field walks that remind you why you came. A yoga retreat Bali experience woven around rigorous training is what makes this journey so uniquely complete.

How to Choose the Right Yoga Instructor Course in Bali

Not all yoga instructor courses in Bali are equal. Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you will make on this path. Here is what to look for.

Yoga Alliance Certification: A Non-Negotiable Standard

Always verify that your chosen school holds active Yoga Alliance certified training Bali status as a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200). Graduating from a Yoga Alliance certified training Bali program allows you to register as an RYT 200, the internationally recognised professional credential that schools, studios, and employers worldwide look for. House of Om is a fully registered RYS 200 school with Yoga Alliance, and our graduates receive their certification ready to teach legally and professionally in any country.

Finding the Right Style and Lineage

Bali’s yoga scene is richly diverse. Yoga instructor courses in Bali span Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Tantra, and trauma-informed approaches. The most important question is: does the style reflect your personal practice and the kind of teacher you want to become? House of Om specialises in a multi-style approach, grounding students in classical Hatha and Vinyasa while weaving in yin and restorative practices equipping graduates to teach a wide range of students with confidence.

Questions to Ask Before You Enrol

Before committing to any yoga teacher training Bali program, ask:

  • Will I feel welcomed and supported, regardless of my level of experience?
  • Does the school’s approach to yoga feel authentic and aligned with my values?
  • What exactly is included in the program fee (accommodation, meals, learning materials, and certification)?
  • How much hands-on teaching practice will I receive before I graduate?
  • What opportunities are there for personal growth alongside learning to teach yoga?

The Cost of Yoga Certification in Bali vs. Other Destinations

Yoga teacher training in Bali often offers excellent value compared to equivalent programs in North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Many residential programs include accommodation, three daily meals, and course materials, making it easier to understand the overall cost of your training.

At House of Om, our all-inclusive packages are designed so that students can focus entirely on their training without worrying about logistics or daily costs. You arrive, you practice, you transform. Everything else is taken care of. When you factor in the immersive cultural experience, the quality of instruction, and the lifelong community you build during yoga teacher training in Bali, the value becomes undeniable.

Life After Your Yoga Teacher Training in Bali: What Comes Next?

Completing your Yoga Teacher Training in Bali is not the end of the journey—it’s often the beginning of a new chapter.

Many graduates go on to teach in studios, retreats, wellness centres, corporate settings, or online, while others continue to deepen their personal practice or pursue further study. Some return to House of Om to complete their 300-hour advanced training and continue their journey towards RYT 500 certification, expanding both their knowledge and confidence as teachers.

Beyond the professional opportunities, many graduates leave with greater confidence, a deeper connection to their practice, and lasting memories of the people and experiences that shaped their journey. Whatever path they choose, the lessons learned and connections made during their training can continue to support their personal and professional growth long after they leave Bali.

Students must begin their online course within 12 months of the date of purchase.

Students who do not begin the course within this period will be required to pay a $90 Study Group Allocation Fee before joining a study group.

3. Study Group Policy

200-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training

Study Group Allocation

Students who select “Start as soon as possible” during enrollment will be assigned to the next available study group based on their preferred time zone and availability.

House of Om offers multiple study groups across different time zones to accommodate students worldwide.

Students who are not ready to begin should select “Do not want to start yet” during enrollment or notify Student Support before study group allocation.

Study groups are generally allocated within 2–4 weeks, although this may vary depending on teacher availability and the formation of suitable groups.

Guided Study Group

The 200-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training is delivered through guided study groups led by an assigned teacher. Each study group is designed to be completed over approximately 4 months, consisting of:

  • Approximately 3 months of live Zoom sessions.
  • Up to 1 additional month for homework review, teacher feedback, and final assessments.

Students are expected to complete all mandatory homework assignments, attend the required live Zoom sessions, and submit their final assessments during the study group period.

Students who do not complete these requirements within their assigned study group and wish to continue receiving teacher guidance must join a new study group.

A $90 Study Group Reassignment Fee applies when a student:

  • does not complete the required coursework within their assigned study group and wishes to continue with a new study group;
  • requests a different teacher;
  • requests reassignment to a study group in a different time zone after allocation; or
  • requests a change to their Zoom schedule after the first live Zoom session.

Requests made before the first live Zoom session will be accommodated free of charge, subject to availability.

Students who need to pause their studies due to medical reasons may rejoin a future study group without paying the reassignment fee. A valid medical certificate is required.

300-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training

The 300-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training operates with an ongoing live study group rather than fixed cohorts.

Unlike the 200-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training, students are not assigned to a fixed study group or teacher, and the Study Group Reassignment Policy does not apply.

Students may attend live Zoom sessions according to their availability. To be eligible for graduation, students must complete a minimum of 45 hours of live Zoom training, including the required teaching practice hours outlined in the course curriculum.

Once a student confirms they are ready to begin and is activated in the live study group, they have 12 months to complete all graduation requirements and qualify for certification.
