Where it all started...
Life-changing community and holistic school
My name is Wissam Barakeh, I am Syrian living in the UAE for the past 18 years. My initiative, House of Om Community Center (in Arabic translates to Life Harmony) is my own house, which I designed to be a lighthouse that enlightens people's minds and hearts.
The House Of Om Community has 3 goals:
1- Spread happiness and positivity through the harmony between the mind, body and soul.
2- Promote tolerance, forgiveness and understanding amongst different cultures and religions.
3- Raise the level of consciousness and knowledge in the society as well as the development of the latent energies within the individuals.
This happens through free activities and workshops conducted by selected specialist volunteers who believe in the goals of the community center and it's values.
The community center was born on the 5th of June 2016, since then, around 261 events took place at the house with the participation of nearly 10,441 participants .
The workshops include, different social and voluntary activities for children and the elderly, spiritual events like yoga and meditation, alternative medicine (music, energy therapy, Ayurvedic medicine), and many other trainings like First Aid, body movement, well-being, development of the subconscious mind (hypnosis) , awareness and knowledge, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), nutrition, astronomy, drawing, handcrafts, book club, spiritual cinema, Arabic language classes, and cooperation with special needs institutions and other community centers.
My bigger dream is to open similar community centers in every city across the world and to be able to reach people minds and hearts with love, with consciousness, and with honesty and dedication.
